LawCoachBC Privacy Policy

The Justice Education Society of B.C. (JES) is committed to respecting individuals’ right to privacy. The LawCoachBC Privacy Policy ensures clients that any personal information under JES’s care will be properly protected. By using LawCoachBC.ca and/or registering as a client of LawCoachBC, you agree to the terms and conditions of this Privacy Policy.

We respect your privacy 

JES recognizes the need for appropriate protection and management of personal information provided through LawCoachBC, whether from employees, volunteers, donors, customers, participants or the public.

Personal information is information that is recorded about an identifiable individual. JES collects and uses personal information solely to deliver services to LawCoachBC clients.

Information we collect

LawCoachBC provides expert separation guidance. We work with clients to understand their situation and needs, answer questions, connect clients with resources and services and to help clients move forward with their separation or divorce. In order to provide coaching services to LawCoachBC clients, JES collects a broad range of personal information directly related to each client’s separation or divorce.

JES actively protects each LawCoachBC client’s personal information by making reasonable security arrangements to prevent the risk of unauthorized collection, access, use, disclosure or disposal of personal information. 

What we do with information we collect

Personal information provided on the LawCoachBC.ca or to LawCoachBC staff is accessed only by those employees of JES who require it to operate and deliver LawCoachBC services. JES does not sell personal information it collects. JES does not share personal information collected through LawCoachBC with any other JES operated programs or projects.

JES will only disclose a client’s personal information to a third party that provides services directly to LawCoachBC clients, or as required by law. 

  • Client name, email address and phone number are provided to Coparenter.com in order to register LawCoachBC clients and enable six (6) months of free access to the CoParenter application.
  • Client name, email address and phone number, along with the former spouse’s name are provided to select unbundled family law lawyers in BC in order to provide client referral for one (1) free hour of legal advice. Upon confirmation from the client, JES will also share personal information provided in the client intake questionnaire to the one lawyer selected to provide free service.

 

Your privacy when using LawCoachBC.ca

JES tracks website usage data of visitors to LawCoachBC.ca for statistical purposes and to help the organization improve the website and LawCoachBC services. This data is anonymous and is not connected to any personal information provided by LawCoachBC clients. The data tracked includes pages visited, internet sessions, length of visit, type of browser used, type of device used and the city where the user session originated. JES does not use “cookies” to track LawCoachBC.ca site usage by visitors nor clients.

LawCoachBC.ca is a secure website and JES has implemented certain physical, organizational, and technical safeguards that are designed to maintain the integrity and security of personal information that we collect. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect nor impenetrable and thus we cannot and do not guarantee the security of your data. 

Your LawCoachBC account is protected by a username and password that you have selected, and it is up to you to protect the confidentiality of this account information and to prevent unauthorized access to your account. 

LawCoachBC contains links to other websites, including links to information and services provided by third parties, such as Coparenter.com.  If you choose to click on any website links, or download any resources, JES is not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. In addition, in no event will JES have any responsibility for the contents of those websites and you use third-party websites entirely at your own risk.
